Pete Sack @ Raleigh City Museum

Painted Archives
New works from Raleigh's Pete Sack will be unveiled 4/1/2011. Open to the public and an "homage to a city that has treated me well". On First Friday, April 1, 2011, the museum is unveiling its first ever one-man art show with local artist Pete Sack. The show will be all original paintings, inspired by the photo archives supplied by the Raleigh City Museum. These works of art are Sack’s interpretation of the city’s history and people as it has changed throughout the years. The show will consist of 30-40 postcard size paintings and 10 larger pieces. The work is oil painting on top of watercolor, on paper. The opening of this exhibit will include our usual First Friday fun of live music, hors d’oeuvres, and all things Raleigh.

Sack has been a Raleigh resident for ten years and is continually impressed by the city’s astonishing growth over the last half century. According to Sack , “I consider Raleigh to be my home; this is sort of an homage to a city that has treated me well in these 10 years.” Sack’s work will be on sale for the duration of the exhibit. Admission is free. Exhibit curated by Ladye Jane Vickers & Marshall Wyatt
